Vicki Andersen is a painter and muralist from California’s Central Coast. Known for her vivid impressionistic paintings, Vicki works mainly in acrylic and oils often with a palette knife as her major tool. Vicki’s mural work includes the 12ft x 48ft “Mission Vieja” (Lompoc’s Lost Mission) and a trip to Fiji as a Teacher/Artist, painting a mural with combined Fijian and California youth.
I love color and I feel that it shows in my paintings. I like to work quickly and can hardly wait to get through the design-drawing phase to the actual act of painting. I often jokingly say that I don't think when I paint. In truth, I realize that I do plan and compose each peace completely in my head. When I paint it actually seems to fall off my arm onto the canvas...to flow right out of my "minds' eye". An admirer of my work once told me he "heard music" when he looked at my paintings, Mozart in the garden scene, ext. It was a compliment that made me realize what painting feels like to me.
Vicki Andersen’s paintings may be seen at the following locations; Gallery Los Olivos, in Los Olivos,
